Joining the Air Training Corps

If you would like to became a Cadet you must be between 13 and 18 and have a keen sense of adventure.

To join the Wellingborough unit visit the Squadron Headquarters or contact us via e-mail or phone.

When you join

You will start a probationary period of 3 months during which you will receive basic training in a range of skills after which you will be provided with a uniform and enrolled as a member of the Air Training Corps. We ask for a £15 deposit for your uniform which is refunded on leaving, you will need to provide suitable footwear to accompany the uniform. The subscription for being a member is only £6 per month which goes towards the running of the squadron and activities.  These are the only costs that you will incur unless you attend an activity such as a training camp which will usually cost approximately £40 for a one week in the UK.

After initial training you will be able to take part in the flying, target shooting and adventure training activities, as well as learning about aviation and meeting new friends.

Staffing

We are always on the lookout for new staff members who are able to offer the cadets new experiences and training.

If you have a skill or hobby (such as amateur radio, model making or engine mechanics) which young people may be interested in learning, or just wish to offer your services please email the Commanding Officer from the contacts page.
